Honouring Your Wedding Vows

The Vow

The exchange of wedding vows is an essential part of a wedding ritual. It is a very romantic moment and often the ideal place to convey your feelings towards your future spouse in the presence of your dear ones. Finding the right words to say and writing the perfect vows takes time and effort. It appears harder than it seems, but the true challenge comes after the big day has gone, when everything is back to normal and your lives have begun as one. Can you truly honor your wedding vows?

 The Challenge

As time flashes before us, it can be seen in many homes the importance of honoring wedding vows is disappearing. But why is this happening? Couples are fighting, cheating, getting divorced etc, but why are couples unable to truly honor their vows? There are various reasons why this may happen, which I cannot really say for sure. But my guess is, couples nowadays have become so engrossed in their own lives they may have forgotten the significance of these vows. I know it must be very difficult to truly honor these vows, with a job, kids, bills, other commitments etc, but you have to try. If you fail to try, your marriage would become a binding contract where you both agree to do things for each other, like the wife will agree to cook and take care of the household activities whilst the husband will agree to see about the garden etc. This is not how it suppose to be but shockingly this is what is taking place in today's society. The importance of honoring your wedding vows is crucial to the survival of your marriage and the growth of a healthy family.  Don’t let your vows become part of a contract, make it a part of your daily routine and see how it would change your lives for the better. Don't do something because you have to, do it because you want to.

Is he/she the one?

10 SIGNS THAT WOULD HELP TELL US IF SHE/HE IS THE ONE

As we grow older, we begin searching for that one person whom we can spend the rest of our lives together with . That one person whom we can call our own and know that they will be there no matter what. But how do we distinguish our future spouse from everyone else? What are the key signs that proves she/he is the one? For many these signs may vary, however following below are ten (10) signs which i believe can help prove she/he is the one..

1)       She/he is Funny - Is your partner able to make you laugh? Does he/she laugh at your silly jokes? If he/she does, this is a good sign. Humor is very important for a healthy and happy marriage. If you're dating someone who lacks a good sense of humor, then they are not the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. Your marriage would lack excitement and would become dull and boring. Having someone in your life who can make you laugh is integral for a happy marriage, as they would always be able to make your dull days seem brighter.

2)    She/he motivates you- having someone in your life who can openly show you where you're going wrong and point out the things that are holding you back in your life is great for a healthy marriage. This person would be able to motivate you and help you become a better person, moreover they would always try to better the relationship you share with eachother.

3)       Your life seems better when she/he is around- once that person is around, your day instantly becomes better and everything seems to be okay. Once he/she is around your days become brighter than the sun and you feel you can take on the world.

4)       She/ he Is Your Best Friend- Have your partner become your best friend? Do you call your girlfriend or boyfriend for every little thing that you do or experience? Do you share every detail of your life with them? If so, you are on your way to a happy and beautiful relationship. Becoming best friends with your love is absolutely the sweetest thing ever. I have met many couples who consider their partner to be their best friend, and honestly they share a beautiful and inseparable relationship.

5)       She/he loves you- Regardless of all your flaws, mistakes and weaknesses she/he still thinks you’re the most amazing person in the world and loves you no matter what.

6)       She/he shows a continuous effort-Your Partner shows a continuous effort to show you they want you in their lives. No matter where you are or where you go, they want to be there holding your hands and supporting you. He/she will do anything or you and drop everything to be with you. If you have someone like this in your lives, they definitely a keeper.

7)       Physical Attraction- This is an integral part of a relationship. If you’re not physically attracted to the person, forget about having a future with that person. However if you can not get your hands of your other half, this is great news.

8)       Trust- trust is important in a relationship without it there is no future.  A relationship built on trust is one we shouldn’t let go off.

9)       Common Values- Sharing common values can create a better and stable marriage and build a beautiful home for your kids.

10)   You are comfortable with that person – being comfortable around the person you love is very important, if you're not comfortable whilst you're dating then you wouldn't be comfortable entering into a marriage. In a relationship your must be able to feel comfortable around the person you intend to spend the rest of your life with.

Unfortunately in life, many of us have to kiss a few frogs before we find the perfect match, but when you do find that person make sure to hold on. Sometimes we are often blessed with such a person but are unable to recognize the love of our lives but don't lose faith. What are the key signs you believe would help you recognize your future spouse?

What is Marriage?

Some consider it a life sentence full of misery and pain, whilst others believe it to be the most beautiful union of a man and wife who have come together to celebrate their love for each other. Some run from it whilst others embrace it. But what is a marriage? A marriage is a legalized union of two people who have vowed to spend their lives together "till death do them part".

There are many reasons why people get married. Some people get married for love, whilst some for wealth, others for many other reasons. But marriages should not take place based on a compromise, its a lifelong commitment that should be respected and protected. People should not enter into this beautiful bond with the intention of acquiring wealth, property, status etc. I believe marriages should take place because of love. How can two people decide to spend their lives together in a relationship without love?

A marriage is a partnership, its a commitment and a relationship that ought to be built. If something goes wrong, you stay and mend your relationship, don't run. But the sad thing is people enter into this partnership with the misconception that marriage is a beautiful box filled with the things we as human crave for such as companionship, intimacy, friendship etc, and the minute they find these things missing they allow the relationship to fall apart. Marriage is a beautiful union yes, but its like an empty box that you have to work together to fill with the things you want. Marriage is not a fairy tale where these things magically appear, it takes time and effort and commitment to build a healthy marriage. Its like a full time job  that you continuously work on to enjoy the benefits. Love may infuse the zeal to get married, but after marriage love is not just enough. It takes passion, romance, commitment and most importantly it takes "two".
