Honouring Your Wedding Vows

The Vow

The exchange of wedding vows is an essential part of a wedding ritual. It is a very romantic moment and often the ideal place to convey your feelings towards your future spouse in the presence of your dear ones. Finding the right words to say and writing the perfect vows takes time and effort. It appears harder than it seems, but the true challenge comes after the big day has gone, when everything is back to normal and your lives have begun as one. Can you truly honor your wedding vows?

 The Challenge

As time flashes before us, it can be seen in many homes the importance of honoring wedding vows is disappearing. But why is this happening? Couples are fighting, cheating, getting divorced etc, but why are couples unable to truly honor their vows? There are various reasons why this may happen, which I cannot really say for sure. But my guess is, couples nowadays have become so engrossed in their own lives they may have forgotten the significance of these vows. I know it must be very difficult to truly honor these vows, with a job, kids, bills, other commitments etc, but you have to try. If you fail to try, your marriage would become a binding contract where you both agree to do things for each other, like the wife will agree to cook and take care of the household activities whilst the husband will agree to see about the garden etc. This is not how it suppose to be but shockingly this is what is taking place in today's society. The importance of honoring your wedding vows is crucial to the survival of your marriage and the growth of a healthy family.  Don’t let your vows become part of a contract, make it a part of your daily routine and see how it would change your lives for the better. Don't do something because you have to, do it because you want to.

  1. It's so easy to get caught up in life itself we forget the purpose of the vow itself who can honor that promise forever when we live in a world where we are always looking for the next best thing.....

  2. Many married couples dont take their vows seriously. It becomes words with no meaning after commitment. Marriage is like knowledge you stay determined never give up an always keep learning.

  3. I agree for a marriage to be successful there is a lot of work involved and both parties must be willing to make that commitment to each other.
